Mending Magic Grimoire Spread

I love to mend things. I would say it is one of my favorite things to do! Truly caring for the things I have and making sure they are functioning well and serving my expansion as I go through this life with them. I did a blog post on mending magic already, and I would love to share the grimoire page I created around the topic of mending magic as well!

The Spread

I made this spread when I was cozied up on the couch, all with things that were within arms reach! Thank goodness I had my pens pouch nearby!

The Inspiration

The inspiration for this spread came from this quilt image that I had cut out of a magazine. It is so homespun looking and vintage, you can tell that it has a history to it. I think that history adds to the magic of the mending spread. Age, being a badge of honor, that you have been around long enough to have gathered enough wisdom to take care all through those years.

I placed this quilt not in the center of the spread, but flanked on the sides of each page, as if the quilt is giving you a big and comforting hug. The things we take care of, really can take care of us.

I elected to use pink, a loving and comforting color to highlight the loving energy that mending has for me.

The Heading

For the heading I used two different markers to make a gradient from light to dark on the bottom. I also used a fountain pen to make a slight drop shadow on the letters right and bottom sides. I also used this fountain pen to create a stitchmark motif over all of the letters. Some of the stitches seen on these letters include, running, whip, blanked and an X. So much fun!

With this simple post, I hope this spread gave you some inspiration to focus on your own personal journey and to make spreads in your grimoire that are meaningful for you. Your spreads may have nothing to do with mending, but as long as they are things that you love, that is what matters.

And so it is!

With much love,
